Holy Family Fund
The Holy Family Fund addresses both immediate and long-term needs of the seminary. Each year, the seminary will receive a distribution from the Holy Family Fund in an amount between 5% and 10% of the rolling average of the market value of the fund from the prior twelve quarters. The continual generosity of donors will sustain this fund for the long-term benefit of the seminary.
The name “Holy Family Fund” represents the important and beautiful relationship between the priesthood and family life. The seed of Jesus’ own priestly vocation was nurtured in the context of the Holy Family. We want to encourage all families to be the seedbed of vocations, where young men and women are taught to listen to and respond to God’s call.
Tribute or memorial gifts are a special way to support a worthy cause while paying tribute to a special person in your life. If you desire, the Seminary will inform the honoree or a designated family member of your gift (amount is not disclosed). When you make your contribution, simply provide the name of the person being honored as well as the contact information for the person who should be acknowledged.
The Seminary’s endowment funds provide monetary support to ensure the quality of priestly formation at the Seminary.
- The Kenrick-Glennon Seminary Endowment which provides unrestricted monetary support for annual operations.
- The Peter Richard Kenrick Chair of Pastoral Theology Endowment which supports the annual Peter Richard Kenrick Lecture, an educational opportunity established by the Class of 1944 to provide lasting support to their beloved seminary and to enhance pastoral formation for years to come.
- The Justin Cardinal Rigali Chair of Sacred Liturgy Endowment which supports in the training and formation of seminarians so that, once ordained, they may promote the dignity, beauty and sound discipline of the Sacred Liturgy.
- The Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke Chair of Canon Law Endowment which supports the study, training and formation of seminarians so that, once ordained, they may be prepared in their knowledge of Catholic Truth and Upholding Catholic Rights.
- The Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan Chair of Church History Endowment which supports the study of Church History so our future priests are prepared in their knowledge of the history and tradition of the Universal Church.
Holy Land Retreat and Pilgrimage
Each January, our seminarians in their final year of formation and education encounter Christ in a new way. While walking in the footsteps of Jesus during the annual Holy Land Retreat and Pilgrimage, Scripture comes alive for the seminarian and he can never read or pray the same again. His everyday prayer and everyday preaching are more fruitful as he serves the people as a future parish priest. Friends of the seminary have an opportunity to sponsor a deacon on this journey of faith.
Faith for the Future Capital Campaign
The Faith for the Future Campaign was launched to improve the quality of education and living accommodations for the next generation of seminarians. Donors to the campaign have enabled the Seminary to address infrastructure concerns and building enhancements at our home in Shrewsbury and significantly increase the endowment to support the operational needs of the Seminary.
