Alumni Bishops-Elect Celebrate Appointments with Holy Mass in the Seminary’s Chapel

It was with great joy that the seminary community welcomed two alumni priests, both newly appointed bishops, to the seminary for the celebration of Holy Mass. Recently, the Holy Father appointed Bishop-Elect Lawrence Nicasio, Class of 1989 as bishop of the Diocese of Belize City-Belmopan and Bishop-Elect Mark Rivituso, Class of 1988, as Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Bishop-Elect Rivituso celebrated Holy Mass in the Chapel of St. Joseph, with the seminarians of Kenrick School of Theology in attendance. Please join us in praying for the newly elected bishops as they prepare for the ordinations to their episcopacies later this spring.

Midshipman Answers the Call

“With an appointment to the United States Naval Academy, Andrew Hunt seemed to have his plans set for at least the next nine years, maybe more.

He’d spend four years at the academy in Annapolis, Md., then five more as a commissioned officer in the Navy. After that, he’d either become career military, just as his father, John, was for 34 years in the Air Force, or parlay his Naval experience into a rewarding career. Either way, it seemed that he would fulfill the dreams nurtured by tagging along as a young child with his dad to Scott Air Force Base in Mascoutah, Ill.

Except for one thing. Hunt felt a higher calling…”
