Summer Ministry: Mitchell Baer

In addition to assisting local parishes over the summer months, the seminarians of Kenrick School of Theology participate in a variety of activities that enhance their personal priestly formation. These opportunities for service, prayer, and studies include summer youth camps, Spanish immersion, 30 Day Silent Retreats, and programs at the Institute of Priestly Formation in Omaha, Nebraska.

Seminarian Mitchell Baer, Theology II, sent an update from his summer assignment in Colombia, South America:

“Greetings from Villa de Leyva, Colombia! I am here along with six other Kenrick seminarians for our summer assignment. We are tasked with learning the Spanish language and coming to a greater understanding of Latin American culture. It has been absolutely a once in a lifetime experience.
